Type Rating examiner COURSE
Course Description
The Type Rating Examiner (TRE) course is held for those Type Rating Instructors (TRI) certified by the French DGAC wishing to become an examiner. Non-French licensed TRIs require prior approval from their issuing CAA.
The course is not type specific. It could be accomplish on any multi jet simulator. The course is divided in three parts:
- Part 1: Ground Theoretical Training and Practical Ground Training
- Part 2: FSTD Training
- Part 3: Assessment of Competence (AoC)
Regulatory Compliance
This course provides part of the training qualification needed to gain a TRE/SFE (A) certificate as described in EASA- FCL AMC1 FCL.1010 TRE or AMC1 FCL.1010.SFE.
All applicants for a TRE/SFE certificate shall hold an ATPL issued by the French DGAC and a Type Rating Instructor (TRI) certificate for the applicable aircraft category. Candidates shall have completed 1500 hours flight time as a pilot on multi-pilot airplanes of which at least 500 hours shall be as PIC.
For the Initial issue of a TRE/SFE certificate, have completed of at least 50 hours of flight instruction as a TRI/SFI in the applicable type or an FSTD representing that type.
Candidates for a renewal of a TRE/SFE authorisation will undergo a course as approved by the French DGAC on a case by case.

The Type Rating Examiner Standardisation Course is offered on our Virtual Training System, in Paris or on customer’s premises for Airlines.
Synthetic Simulator training is offered in Paris, London, Madrid, Amsterdam, Toulouse and Frankfurt. Other Locations may be arranged on request.
